President of Security ProAdvisors
Keith Oringer, Founder
January 6, 1961 – April 11,2025
Keith Oringer, Founder of Security ProAdvisors, was a security executive with more than 30 years of experience in the industry and extensive experience in the acquisition of companies.
After obtaining both a CPA and an MBA, Keith began his career at Wells Fargo Guard Services (formerly Borg Warner Protective Services) in various operational roles and later joined U.S. Security Associates as a shareholder of the company and one of the key executives in building the firm from its inception to more than $1.2 billion in annual revenue. This front-line experience as a shareholder has proved to be valuable experience as a broker.
U.S. Security Associates was co-founded by Kenneth Oringer, Keith’s father, in 1993 and was subsequently sold to Goldman Sachs Capital Partners in July 2011 for $640 million, and then sold again in October 2018 to Allied Universal for more than $1 billion.
Keith joined U.S. Security Associates Inc. in 1994 as the third employee and shareholder of the company. He was instrumental in U.S. Security Associate’s early growth, taking the company from $70 million to almost $200 million in revenue while working on the “buy side.” Charting this successful path included the acquisition of four regional guard companies and numerous smaller firms.
Key operational roles during the last nine years at the company included Vice President, and then President of a business unit with 3,000 employees and approximately $100 million in revenue, leading the way in profitability, client retention, sales, and receivables. When Keith left U.S. Security at the end of 2014, the company had 46,000 employees and $1.2 billion in revenue.
In 2024, Keith co-authored Legends of the Security Services Industry: Profiles in Leadership. The book tells the story of fifteen individuals who revolutionized the security services industry.
Keith was a Certified Public Accountant and has an MBA in Finance from Pace University, and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from SUNY-Binghamton. Keith is a member of ASIS and Associated Licensed Detectives of New York State.
Keith’s industry experience coupled with his accounting background better enables him to provide clients with operational and financial consulting to enhance client profitability and valuation. This is a key part of why Security ProAdvisors has become front and center on security companies’ radar when they’re looking to better position themselves in the marketplace, increasing valuation and profitability.
It was with deep sadness we announced the passing of Keith in April 2025. Keith’s legacy was defined by his leadership, integrity, innovation, and a lifelong commitment to excellence. He will be deeply missed by his colleagues, friends, and the industry he helped shape.
